Bringing Intergenerational Wisdom to the Workplace

April 8, 2019, 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Toronto Region Board of Trade, 1 First Canadian Place, 4th Floor, Lennox Hall, Toronto, ON

Join BoomersPlus and the Toronto Region Board of Trade in welcoming Chip Conley, author of Wisdom @ Work: The Making of a Modern Elder and Strategic Advisor and Former Global Head of Hospitality for Airbnb. One of Fast Company’s 7 Best Business Books of 2018, Chip Conley will be visiting Toronto to share his exciting experiences building international businesses by harnessing the power of wisdom across generations.

Chip Conley

Rebel hospitality entrepreneur and New York Times bestselling author, Chip Conley disrupted his favorite industry… twice. At age 26 he founded Joie de Vivre Hospitality (JdV), transforming an inner-city motel into the second largest boutique hotel brand in America. He sold JdV after running it as CEO for 24 years, and soon the young founders of Airbnb asked him to help transform their promising start-up into the world’s leading hospitality brand. Chip served as Airbnb’s Head of Global Hospitality and Strategy for four years and today acts as the company’s Strategic Advisor for Hospitality and Leadership. His five books have made him a leading authority at the intersection of psychology and business. In his new book, WISDOM@WORK: The Making of a Modern Elder, Chip shares his experiences – as both mentor and unexpected intern – at Airbnb. Chip was awarded “Most Innovative CEO” by the San Francisco Business Times, is the recipient of hospitality’s highest honor, the Pioneer Award, and holds a BA and MBA from Stanford University.
“In his four years at Airbnb, Chip has always taken on new opportunities and challenges. He raised the standards of our platform (and) has been an integral part in making Airbnb the company that it is today.” Brian Chesky — CEO of Airbnb, Inc.

Don’t miss your chance to hear this inspiring story about the value of intergenerational wisdom in the modern workplace.
